Our Story:
KATKAF is a new brand established in 2020 by coffee enthusiasts from Wuxi, a city in China's Jiangnan region famous for its natural beauty and rich cultural heritage.
Our first product, the KATKAF coffee pot, features a double-layered stainless steel filter and an automatic stirring device, along with a wooden handle that makes it easy to hold and pour coffee into cups. We aim to continue Wuxi's tradition of refinement and quality and to bring a touch of its unique culture to coffee lovers around the world.
The inspiration for the design of our coffee pot arose from a sense of guilt after a friend's child got burned by a regular coffee pot. It prompted the founder, Taylor Ceng, and his neighbor Mike Fu, a renowned woodworker from Wuxi, to embark on a series of designs and experiments. Their goal was to create a coffee pot that would eliminate the risk of scalding accidents.
Driven by their shared passion for coffee and their commitment to safety, Taylor and Mike worked tirelessly to develop a solution. After numerous iterations and prototypes, they came up with the idea of incorporating a wooden handle into the design of the coffee pot. This innovative feature not only added a touch of elegance and uniqueness but also ensured a safe and comfortable grip while pouring hot coffee.
